Day 14
Hello!
I had some nice fellowship today!
I woke up and my Kuya texted me to look over the deck project and make any notes of what needed to be done/adjusted so I got up and started taking pictures and notes. When I was done, I took some breakfast upstairs to my office and relayed the notes to my Kuya.
We chatted a little and then he told me his contractor would be coming over so I could go over further details with him.
When Donaldo got to the house my friend who is incarcerated called me so I was thinking do I answer or do I take care of business but then I remembered he can only talk for 10 minutes so I answer my called and checked on how he was doing.
Afterwards I chatted with Donaldo and we just ended up talking about life in general and we decided to go have dinner tomorrow evening and he suggested that I come visit his church out in Chesapeake.
He hasn’t been in like 1.5 years so if I can be an encouragement to get him back to church and if I can enjoy some fellowship at the same time, I’m down for the visit!
After we chatted, I went back up stairs to get back into my book reading. A little later, I found out that my mom was going to drive over to my Ate’s house and she took Sarah Lee with her. I always feel bad when Sarah goes somewhere because I’m sure she is still worried she is going back to the ER when she had her stomach problem and stayed at the ER for 3.5 days!
Anyway… I pretty read until I took a shower, got dressed and I headed over to a new church to try a new CR program.
I got there and introduced myself to some of the guys and immediately just had some good conversations. We had some fellowship, ate some food and kept talking. I spent that hour chatting with a gentleman who was in his 70’s and another gentleman who I think was in his 60’s. I laughed to myself because I always tend to be drawn to the older generations. I don’t know why for sure but I just enjoy talking to older people haha
I think they enjoyed chatting with me too because one was telling me how he plans to start meeting with the youth of the church and he just enjoys learning how younger people work today lol The other gentleman just flat out told me that after meeting me for the first time, my “hello”, my handshake and my overall presence was very inviting. I thanked him and just told him I need the fellowship and I’m just glad to be here!
After some fellowship, the main service started and for the first time in over 3 years, I felt like I was finally in a church service that felt just right regarding the diversity of ages. Please don’t take me the wrong way…. I love my home church but there is hardly anyone there around my age but that this church event I was surrounded by people that I knew were close to my age (mid to late 30’s) I could see there were some mid-20’s and then I could see people my Ate’s age and then my parents age and even older! It was nice to be in that service!
After the main service we broke out into smaller group and that was great too! There was two mid 20’s, then myself and another guy in our mid 30’s, a guy in his 40’s and a guy that I believe was “boomer” age.
After our small groups I chatted for like whole other hour with one of the younger guys who was just going through some tough times in his life. It felt good to be able to be available for someone to be a brother and give some advice.
I came home, ate a ice cream cone… lol and then watched some news and brushed my teeth and worked on this post.
My Kuya and I texted a little and he asked if I could take him to go pick up his new car on Tuesday but I have an appointment so I couldn’t make the plans but he showed me some pictures of his new car and it’s SICK!!!!!! LoL
Here’s a “sneak peak” photoshoot image!
I’m a little sad I can’t go with him to go pick up the car but he told me he would bring it by so I can take my own photoshoot LOL
It’s almost midnight so I’m going to finish up this blog and get into bed and read until I fall asleep!
Until tomorrow!
Take care!
